The ASP.NET MVC Framework is Microsoft's latest web development framework, built on top of the model-view-controller (MVC) pattern. Based on ASP.NET, it allows the developer to control all aspects of the life cycle of a request. Model represents the domain of the application, and it can be represented in many different ways. When a request comes into an ASP.NET MVC application, it is routed to a controller. The controller can issue any set of commands to the model, and render any view back to the browser.
