This course describes how to lay out a XAML-based application. By adding controls to the user interface, you can organize the user interface to make applications more visually appealing and display and manage data in applications. The course also describes how to develop and debug XAML-based applications. Although WPF and Silverlight applications are types of XAML-based applications, they have some major differences. There are also similarities such as both types of applications need to designate a startup window or page, handle initialization parameters, and work with application-level events. An understanding of the differences and similarities is important for you to be able to develop WPF and Silverlight applications, host a Silverlight application on a web page, and debug XAML-based applications in Visual Studio 2010 and therefore provide error-free applications for the Windows and browser environments.
