Course Outline:

The course helps students prepare for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management exams. In addition, significant home study is required. The course is based on PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), additional publications and specially prepared reference materials. Through practice testing, you will become knowledgeable with the makeup and format of the PMP Certification Exam and the level of competency needed to pass.

• Prepare for the Project Management Institute\'s Project Management Professional Certification Exam
• Prepare a project plan that has a high potential for successful completion
• Understand the fundamental concepts and theory of Project Management
• Implement risk management techniques and risk mitigation strategies
• Generate task estimates that are within budget and time constraints with confidence
• Use the latest tools for planning, scheduling and budgeting projects both large and small
• Implement monitoring tools and controls to provide strong management for your projects
• Analyze projects for cost, time, scope, risk and quality
• Apply quality management methods to effectively organize staff and lead a successful project team

The course will provide you with techniques to help deliver projects on time, within budget, and in scope. It will help to familiarize you with work breakdown structures, project estimating and budgeting, scheduling, basic motivation and communications theory, quality control, contract administration, schedule administration, etc.
